Dr Charlie Piao

Dr Charlie is an experienced GP who offers comprehensive, patient-centred care across all stages of life. With over a decade of experience in general practice, he is known for his thorough, thoughtful approach—particularly when managing more complex or sensitive health concerns.

Patients often choose to see Dr Charlie for his strong expertise in children’s health, travel medicine, skin checks, and minor procedures, as well as his ability to explain conditions clearly and create practical, personalised treatment plans.

Dr Charlie completed his GP training in NSW and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2012. His early rural experience helped build a broad and adaptable skill set, allowing him to confidently manage a wide range of medical presentations.

He has undertaken additional training in Child Health (Diploma of Child Health), giving parents reassurance when their children are unwell. He understands how challenging it can be to assess sick children and provides careful, evidence-based care to support families.

Dr Charlie also has a special interest in travel medicine and holds a Certificate of Travel Medicine from the International Society of Travel Medicine. He provides tailored pre-travel consultations, vaccinations, and advice to help individuals and families travel safely. He is also a Yellow Fever–accredited immuniser, offering access to essential vaccines for international travel.

In addition, Dr Charlie has completed further training in skin cancer diagnosis and excision, and has extensive experience in minor procedures such as iron infusions, venesection, and Implanon insertion and removal. His background assisting in orthopaedic surgery supports his management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Charlie is actively involved in medical education, supervising GP registrars and medical students, and examining future GPs through RACGP assessments.

Since moving to Brisbane in 2023, Dr Charlie has been caring for the local community and also works with defence personnel at Enoggera Health Centre—an experience he finds especially rewarding.

Outside of work, he enjoys staying active with parkrun and cycling.
