Walton Bridge Medical Centre Waterworks Road is a private billing practice. Patients are asked to pay in full on the day of their consultation. Details of fees can be obtained from our reception staff. For your convenience, at the completion of your consultation, we can process your claim through HIC (Medicare) online and your refund will be deposited into your nominated bank account within forty-eight hours.

A standard consultation time is 15 minutes.

A longer consultation time is 30 minutes. If you have numerous or complex medical issues or require a procedure, a longer consultation may be required.

We do not facilitate walk-in appointments unless a doctor deems that an urgent consultation is required. This is because most doctors are booked up in advance. Please book ahead or call before you arrive to ensure a GP can see you.

We use a secure automated SMS system to communicate with patients about results. To protect your privacy, you should never email personal information such as your birth date, address, Medicare card number, etc. to our clinic.

Depending on the test that has been undertaken, a consultation may be required to receive results. It is the patient’s responsibility to follow up on their test results, and we actively encourage our patients to be proactive in their healthcare and book an appointment for results before leaving the clinic.

Yes, in most circumstances you will need to see a doctor to have a script written. Doctors have a duty of care and need to determine if you should be prescribed a medication based on various factors, or if you should continue or cease taking a medication they may have prescribed for you previously.

Your prescription can be declined if you have not seen your GP within 3 months, or if you are on special authority medication.

Please be aware all prescriptions have a 48 hour turn around.

Depending on the circumstances, we will always try to book you in with your usual doctor however if is not possible, we may suggest you see another doctor who has an appointment available.

Dr Matthew Valentine is an experienced GP who has performed thousands of vasectomies. Dr Valentine performs the vasectomies at the Glen Affric clinic which is just around the corner from the Waterworks Road clinic. Please speak with one of our reception team members to book or discuss vasectomies. You can read more about vasectomies here.

When you book a telehealth or video appointment at our clinic, you will now receive an SMS from us requesting your credit card details to hold your booking. This SMS will come from HotDoc and is secure and safe to use. No funds will be deducted from your card until after your appointment. If you would like to know more please call our reception team.
